Goldstone is known by many names: stellaria, gold star glass, monkstone or monk's gold. The final two names refer to the urban legend that Goldstone was created accidentally by Italian monks in the 1600s.
Named ‘the stone of ambition’, Goldstone is thought to assist in attaining goals. Some consider Goldstone to be a symbol of ingenuity, ambition, and drive.
